I assumed that you are asking for the cartridge type filter, as per technicality every carbon filter has an assumed service life based on specific test conditions, however upon actual application service life varies due to different operating condition.
For instance, the famous Pentair carbon block filters EP BB20.
As per test protocol, the service life in terms of chlorine reduction is 40,000 gallons at 2 ppm chlorine level at a flow rate of 4 GPM with 90% efficiency and under the assumption that it will not suffer from pre mature clogging.
If these test condition will vary (chlorine level, flow rate and pre filters) then service will either be shortened or extended.

Hi sir its me again benjie at mayroon ulit akong katanungan. Ano po sa opinyon mo kung bakit mayroong tiny black particles and dandruff like particles in my purified product. Tried to backwash more than 1 time yung MMDF,GAC and Softener. Even tried to drain yung product for more than 1 hour pero ganun pa rin sir ang result.Ano po kaya ang problema. Maraming salamat in advance.

These tiny black particles that you are mentioning coming from your dispensing line should not come out since there is a post filtration incorporated in your system prior to dispensing,maybe you can consider the ff:
1)Check the polishing carbon,these tiny black particles maybe carbon fines coming from the carbon block.
2)Check if there are corrosive accessories installed after the post filtration system.
These comments are just my assumptions considering that I really have no idea about the design of your system.

Although masyado ng late ang aking reply, just wanna let you know na after changing the post treatment filters(Carbon Block & 1 Micron sidement filter) ay nawala na yung lumalabas na black & flakes like particles.

Dear Sir Orly,
I have problem about my product pressure from 1.6 gpm reduce to 0.9 gpm, please kindly advise me what is problem. First I'm not saying if not sure, but i have a feeling it was the membrane and for two months used of operation.

If you did not make pressure adjustment with your system, and the production gradually dropped after 2 months,it can be pre mature fouling of membranes if pressure remains the same from the time the new membrane was installed.
If systems pressure had decreased, it is pump head problem.

Appreciate your good comments and advise that the membrane having a pre mature of fouling. As advise by others and reading in your posted articles about Water Softener.The water softener which the delivered to me have contain only 1 sack of resin, which should be 1 1/2.
I think the best way is to add about 1/2 sack of resin in the water softener and do cleaning of the membrane.Others have suggested me to increase the system pressure between 140 - 150 psi, likewise before only 100 psi as recommned by the company technecian.

If the loading of resin is just 1 sack, to simplify the issue,you just based your schedule of regeneration at 30,000 grains.
As for the issue of increasing your pressure to compensate your production,that is really one of your options,or you can have the membrane cleaning.

Hi Orly, I noticed my feed pump runs abruptly at 60 psi, and drops also abruptly to 30 psi, i changed the pressure switch but still the same, What is wrong with my setup, medyo naawa ako sa feed pump motor ko, before, dati kasi it runs smoothly and longer before it reaches 60 psi. and stays long also before it drops to 30 psi. You must be experiencing water lag,that is a common problem on systems using the pressure tank.
What you should do are the ff.
1) Close the supply ball valve.
2) turn off the motor.
3) open the drain valve of your pressure tank.
4) remove the pressure gauge of attached to the pressure tank.
5) wait until all the water from the pressure tank are drained, try to knock the body of the pressure tank, the sound of empty tank is different from full or half full.
6) close the drain, install the gauge, open the supply valve and turn on the motor.
